Babies

I teach a number of classes for moms, dads, or other caregivers and babies. Babies respond very positively to my soothing singing voice, my smiles, and my puppets. I love watching them respond to the songs and fingerplays we do together. Parents/caregivers enjoy learning new material to use with their children. Librarians/educators gain new material to add to their repertoire. And the babies have the most fun as we play and sing together in a safe and positive environment.

There are any number of music and movement programs for children. What many parents find to be most important is the teacher, not the program. Come and try-out one of my classes to see if it's a good fit for you and your baby.

Games to Play With a Baby Ages 2 months – 14 months Games, songs, and parent education with Marty Layne. Come join us for finger plays, lap games, and become familiar with the language activities that are so important for your child's development.

Musical Fun for Babies Ages 3 mo- 18 mo 45 min. Explore the fun of music with your little one. Learn about rhythm, pitch, and melody with simple percussion instruments, games and songs. Adult participation is required. Instructor Marty Layne has been singing to and with children for the past 35 years as a teacher, mom, and children’s entertainer. Infant Massage Ages 6 weeks - 15 months Learn to Massage your baby and promote your babies growth and development. Classes at the Gordon Head Recreation Centre or private in-home instruction.
